With a single word you spoke the world into being

With a single word you lit the night and the day

With a single word you brought forth a baby

With a single word, you made a way

Without a word you stood while they mocked you

Without a word you weathered their blows

Without a word you carried your cross

Without a word you died so we'd know

The voice of the Lord is a powerful weapon

The voice of the Lord is a healing balm

The voice of the Lord saves from transgressions

The voice of the Lord causes storms to be calm.

You said very little, yet you said so much

You healed with your words, or only a touch

Your voice rang out on the hill that day,

"Father, forgive them!"

Your voice was stilled by our sins that day,

"Father, I love them."

One Voice spoke the world into being

One Voice brought it alive

One Voice saved the world from dying

One Voice gave his life

So that we might know the voice of our Lord

So that we might share his word

So that we could be the voice of the Lord

And let his truth be heard.

The voice of the Lord brings light to our darkness

The voice of the Lord is our healing balm

The voice of the Lord saves from transgressions

The voice of the Lord will welcome us home

So pour out your voice to the One who has saved us

Lift up your voice in prayer and in praise

Speak forth the truth of the love that has changed us

Lift up your voice to the Ancient of Days
